1970s German Limburg Textured Iced-Glass Flush Mount Ceiling or Wall Light
About the Item
1970s, textured, iced-glass, space-age, ceiling flush mount or wall light. Manufactured in Germany by Limburg. The thick textured glass shade is mounted onto a metal ceiling plate which is white on the inside and black on the exterior and is held in place with two rectangular pieces of metal which it slots into then screws onto therefore making it very easy to mount and change the light bulbs.
The light requires two E27/E26 screw-in light bulbs. I would recommend LEDs for environmental reasons because they generate less heat and last longer. Rewired by a professional electrician and in full working order. In very good vintage condition. It's almost as good as new with only one or two scratches to the black metal rim which aren't noticeable when the shade is in place. Perfect for all smaller rooms of the home especially those with a low ceiling such as a bathroom, hallway or cloak room where height maybe an issue. Suitable for a bathroom as it's a sealed unit. 2 available. PRICE IS FOR ONE. TWO AVAILABLE.
The light could also be used as a wall light. The light also still retains its original makers label.

The circular glass shade is secured to the aluminium fitting with a bolt in the centre which sits inside the decorative chrome knob and disc. Two E27 screw in bulbs sit within the shade facing in opposite directions in order to evenly distribute the light. The design is wonderful with sandblasted oval-shaped lozenges which get smaller towards the middle - "ever decreasing lozenges" with the smallest one creating a flower around the chrome disc. I have seen this light attributed to Kalmar Lighting and Glashutte Limburg but I am pretty certain it's Peill & Putzler but I am happy to stand corrected if anyone knows better. In very good vintage condition with some small scratches to the chrome disc in the centre. Rewired by a professional electrician and in full working order.
