19th Century Chinoiserie Export Tole Tea Canister Table Lamp

About the Item

19th Century Chinese export tole tea canister, mounted as a table lamp. A large general store tin tea caddy dating from the China Trade period, with later Chinoiserie hand painted decoration. While showing its age, the piece remains in very fine, crisp condition. It has been re-wired since its original conversion to a lamp, show the electrical connection is in excellent condition. Canister measures: 17-1/2 in height x 9-1/2 in diameter Lamp overall: 27 in H.
