Søholm Stentøj, which means Soholm’s sandstone, was founded in 1835 by Herman Sonne Wolffsen and Edvard Sonne. It was the oldest factory operating in Bornholm, a Danish island off the south coast of Sweden, until it closed in 1996.
In the middle of the 20th century, Søholm produced a wide range of stoneware in various patterns and shapes. Several Designers worked for Søholm Stentøj as Einar Johansen, Maria Philippi, Noomi Backhausen among others.
