About the Item

Tall sculptural ceramic table lamp designed by Danish ceramist Allan Schmidt. It's manufactured by Herman A. Kähler´s ceramic workshop in cooperation with Danish lamp manufacturer LYFA ca 1960s. It is decorated with a shiny red glaze with darker elements. Included is a new lampshade designed and made in Denmark. It is made of woven fabric with some texture and is off white. It has a top cover so it will spread a cozy light downwards. Handsigned with "HAK" and incised by hand the numbers 664 - 36 AS (for Allan Schmidt) and stamped Denmark. Measurements: Height including lampshade as shown in photos: 69 cm (27.17") (height can be adjusted) Height including socket: 51,2 cm (20.16") Height ceramic part only (without socket): 36 cm (14.17") Diameter lamp base: 12,2 cm (4.80") Diameter lamp shade: 36 cm (14.17") Lightbulb: For type E26/E27 Edison screw-fitting. The lamp is made for Scandinavian outlet. If you use other plugs in your country you can either use an adapter or exchange it with a plug used in your country.

Additions or alterations made to the original: We have added a new lampshade. Wear consistent with age and use. Very good vintage condition. Minor superficial scratches in glaze. The black paint on the ring above the ceramic part has worn off towards the center. No cracks or repairs. A new lampshade is included.
