About the Item

Well-preserved Helo table lamp, timeless classic from the 1950s. The contrast between the green surfaces and the brass parts with patina gives the lamp a noble calm. Stylistically, the design of the lamp is based on the lamps of the Bauhaus period. The lampshade and the arm are adjustable. The massive lamp is made entirely of brass and partially painted green, the inside of the shade is white. The desk lamp emits a bright, pleasantly glare-free light through the curved shade and is very solidly manufactured. The design of the round, arched base with the switch is adapted to the shade: the profiled brass strip on the edge, the green paintwork on the inside and the brass button in the center of the round, which can be used to release both the shade and the base. The umbrella is rotated via a ball joint and does not have to be locked, it holds in any position. The ball joint has two screws that can be used to loosen or tighten the joint. There is another adjustment option on the base: The brass arm can be tilted slightly forwards or backwards, for this purpose there is a long opening in the base. This lamp was available in different sizes, the largest version is offered with a shade diameter of 40 cm. The lamp is in good condition commensurate with its age: the brass parts were left with the patina caused by the aging process, the green original paint shows signs of wear in some places. The inside of the shade was repainted because the paint was only partially present, otherwise it is in its original condition. The underside of the lamp with the company logo shows clear signs of wear, so I am enclosing a new piece of felt that I can put on if you wish - see last picture.
