Art Deco Chrome Pedestal Men's or Ladies Shaving Mirror with Brush Holder
About the Item
This chrome or nickel-plated pedestal shaving stand is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in the United States in the 1930s in the Art Deco style. The stand is well constructed and sturdy and has a screw down adjustment in the middle to allow it to be raised up to an additional five inches. There is also a spring type bracket that is stationary on the central post to hold a shaving brush. The beveled double sided mirror can turn on the bracket and the base is a simple raised pedestal with a beaded surround. Some water damage to the mirror from age and use, but a solid survivor of the deco rooming house era, and highly decorative. The shaving brush photographed can be included but shows wear.
