Gilt and blue painted Venetian style Mirror. Aedicule-form tripartite mirror in gilt carved wood and gesso. Resembling the roofline of San Marco in Venice this sculptural wall art mirror is a blend of the historical and theatrical centering on a heavily mercuried central framed panel with double serpentine columns to either side above a gilt carved plinth base all supporting a seven spired Renaissance gothic skyline of arcaded bow front tympani and tempietti. A strong start for a wall grouping or alone above a powder room sink, this mirror conveys a romantic sculptural and architectural presence. Continental, twentieth century
