Late 20th Century Organic Modern Rattan King 4 Post Canopy Platform Bed

Magnificent vintage Modern to Postmodern king-sized bed including headboard, platform, and pair of nightstands by Glenn of California with off white lacquer finish, aluminum strip accents, and original lighting underneath the platform. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Everything has been filled, sanded and given new coats of off-white lacquer. Age related spots here and there remain along with a beautiful age patina. Maybe we can help with that!! This is a spectacular solid maple twin sized headboard and footboard bearing a beautiful rectangular shape with lovely, hand-carved, or hand-sculpted rounded edges. We will include metal siderails upon purchase. This is a classic beauty with an Art Moderne style that you are sure to love for years to come. It is designed in a style after Russel Wright for Conant Ball or Bissman. My mother (who is a retired interior designer and has been identifying vintage pieces since before I was born… and I am vintage myself!!) believes the actual style is a copy after Russel Wright but the construction leads her to believe it’s Bissman. It is not marked, but no matter, it is INCREDIBLE!! The design world calls these transition pieces… of the era when pieces transitioned between the Art Deco period and the Mid-Century Modern period, during the early portion of the 20th century. Ahhhhh, the good ‘ol days!! LOVE IT!!! The maple bears a beautiful natural shade and it features clean lines, a timeless presence, and simple design sure to blend in beautifully with any décor. Phenomenal vintage chinoiserie Chinese Wedding opium canopy bed comprised of Chinese elm and all-over hand carved Asian gilded designs. It will hold a queen size mattress and is made up of 60+ individual pieces but will be shipped partially assembled.
