Large Wall Mounted Mahogany Propeller, by the Hawker Aircraft Co, Dated 1936

About the Item

A 1930s laminated mahogany propeller from a Hawker Hart powered by a Rolls Royce Kestrel V12, dated September 1936. With wall-mounted bracket. Label reads: DRG NO S 19C 11003/E KESTRAL IX D.12.5 P.11.2 C4086 44933 SEP 1936 The Hawker Hart was a British two-seater biplane light bomber aircraft of the Royal Air Force (RAF). It was designed during the 1920's by Sydney Camm and manufactured by Hawker Aircraft. Several major variants of the Hart were developed, including a navalised version for the Royal Navy's aircraft carriers. Beyond Britain, the Hart would be operated by a number of foreign nations, including Sweden, Yugoslavia, Estonia, South Africa and Canada.

    Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. The propeller has been cleaned and polished. A brass mounting plate has been made so that the propeller can be wall mounted.
