A handsomely bound first edition of this highly illustrated work regarding Edward VIII's sporting expedition to India.
The first edition of the work.
Sumptuously rebound in half morocco. Endpapers and blanks renewed. Half title has been retained.
With ninety nine plates, eight maps, one of which is folding and a folding chart to the rear of the work. Tissue guard overlay detailing staff has been retained.
Written by Bernard C. Ellison, former curator of the Bombay Natural History Society and Naturalist to the Shoots.
An interesting work, detailing the sporting events undertaken by the The Prince of Wales during his 1921 tour to the country, including big game shoots in Nepal, Burma and Patiala; lists of guns and shooting records; and reference to mahseer fishing.
In half morocco with marbled boards. Eternally in lovely condition. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot, heavier to the occasional leaf. Endpapers and blanks have been renewed. Table of contents is closely trimmed with evidence of tape reinforcement to gutter to the occasional leaf. Small closed tear to folding plan.
