Antique 1920s love birds silver and enamel marcasite set brooch

About the Item

This delightful beautifully made 1920s silver brooch (unmarked, but tested) depicts a pair of exotic love birds on a leafy stem. It is a fine delicately made example which is hand decorated with graduated bright coloured enamels and set with sparkling marcasite stones in numerous places. The eyes in addition are set and highlighted with small bright red garnets. On the reverse of the brooch, there is a sturdy hinged pin which locks into a rotating safety catch. This lovely brooch is in good original condition, Continental, circa 1920 Height 2.5cm x width 4.4cm x depth 1.2cm We hope you enjoyed looking at this beautiful brooch of the two lovebirds.
