Rene Lalique Art Deco Snake Pendant

About the Item

Rene lalique was a word famous jeweler before becoming a successful glass designer. He was a man of the Art Nouveau style and his creations were celebrated by French artists as Sarah bernard in live and on stage as by famous party people as Cleo de Merode. His jewels were the most expensive creations without precious gems of its time. He preferred to use enamel and baroque pearls. His creations tell poems and are unique. The Gulbenkian museum in Lisbon probably owns the best collection as Gulbenkian had be an early patron of R.Lalique. When Lalique became a famous glass maker, he introduces a full line of moulded glass jewels in white or colored glass. The snake model is one of its most famous as is the blue electric glass of which it is made. The signature is in hand written, script letters, the silk ropes are genuine.
