1805 Milan Brass Topographic Level signed Pasquale Cittelli with its Walnut Box

About the Item

Topographic level with telescope or simple theodolite of brass with original patina, signed Pasquale Cittelli Milan n. 353, first decade of the 19th century, in good condition and complete with original walnut box, with brass hinges and closing hooks. On the inside lid of the box, two labels give indications on how to use the instrument. Good condition, original patina, fully functional. Box size: 33.5 x 22.5 x 8.5 cm. Pasquale Cittelli was one of the most appreciated Italian scientific instrument makers at the beginning of the 19th century, and received awards and medals; his workshop possessed one of the best dividing engine (to mark graduations on measuring instruments) present in Italy at the time.
