George II Cream Boat Made in London in 1759 by William & James Priest

About the Item

The cream boat stands on three hoof feet attached to the main body with shell mouldings. The slightly baluster main body has a shaped rim and flying scroll handle, decorated with leaf capping. The main body is very well marked and engraved with a set of contemporary initials.

This example has a leaf capped scroll handle and the side of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest, surrounded by a scrollwork cartouche. This piece is of an exceptional weight and color and is of a style which is not often seen today.
