English Georgian Carved Oak Coffer with Simple Shape from the Early 18th Century
About the Item
An English early 18th century carved oak coffer. This English oak trunk features a rectangular lid with rounded edges over a simply grooved front with carved molding. Solidly jointed and closing with a robust lock, the lid opens up to reveal a great storage area. The sides split into two sections to create simple looking yet sturdy legs. With its simple elegance, this English circa 1700 oak coffer can be placed both against a wall or in the middle of a room (perhaps used as a coffee table) or at the foot of a bed to store blankets, but would be perfect in any room.
