About the Item
A rare 3x4 antique hooked rug of United States’ provenance, handmade in wool and fabric, circa 1920-1930, featuring repetitive geometric patterns.
On the Design:
This collectible piece enjoys repetitive geometric patterns arranged in grids in a polychromatic colorway. Keen eyes will note the intricate pattern and color variation as astounding as the charm of this piece. Connoisseurs will admire this piece for it is from some of the richest, most collectible works of folk art and among the earliest forms of Americana in our field, as additionally uncommon to this provenance as the comfortable size.
Further complementing the visual movement is the lack of exact repetition in the patterns, with each tile enjoying individuality and lending further dimensionality to the gridwork.
