Antique Circa 1930s Large Persian Bakhtiari Room Size Garden Rug
About the Item
Large Persian Bakhtiari rug with all-over garden design, circa 1930s. This stunning, colorful antique Persian Bakhtiari carpet features an incredible tiered display of sub-geometric medallions containing various palmettes, cypress trees, blossoms and motifs. Colors include deep aubergine, red, navy blue, cobalt blue, forest green, soft pink, mustard and ivory/tan.
This is a genuine, near antique (vintage) hand-knotted rug from Iran. The craft with which this was created can be told from the intricacy of the patterns, overall size of each Garden "square", harmonious aesthetic and balance of composition and color.
This room size rug was professionally cleaned in the summer of 2021 and placed in storage. It has remained exactly as it came from the cleaners, in excellent antique condition with original edges and wear patterns.
