Antique Persian Kermanshah Rug

About the Item

Tan, ivory and blush colorations with passages of pale indigo and, articulated throughout with deep blue and black outline. Curvilinear elements include a grand central medallion with pendants and serrated leaf forms enclosing palmettes, and vine and rosette fill motifs in the field. Elaborate arabesque spandrels. The composition is framed by border elements of similar forms and colorations. A cartouche with Arabic inscription can be seen in the main border at the top. This is a fine vintage rug from Kermanshah in western Iran.
