Dazzling 50's Kashkooli, Tribal Persian Rug 5' x 8' We our proud to share this eye catching tribal rug, hand woven by the masterful weavers of the Kashkooli tribe. This tribe is in fact a sub tribe of the legendary nomads, the Qashqais. This ancient subtribe have been pioneers in rug design for centuries and their works are some of the most sought after in the world. Known for their distinctive weave and intricate designs, the level of craftsmanship in these pieces are rivaled by few. Comprised entirely soft, luxurious Persian wool that was raised, sheared, spun, dyed and woven by a member of the Kashkooli tribe over 70 years ago. Due to the high quality wool and unique weaving technique of this tribe, Kashkooli rugs are incredibly sturdy. They handle traffic very well, but due to their striking designs, a lot of collectors prefer these pieces on the wall. Kashkooli's are masters of design. They're ability to incorporate such an array of colors while maintaining a balanced appearance is feat on its own. This piece features the original mahi / herati design that was pioneered by the Kashkoolis hundreds of years ago, which has now been adopted / interpreted by cultures around the globe. The rich brick red base and the assorted primary colors through out this piece look incredible on wood tone floors. Its geometric, tribal design looks great with all sorts of decor modern and vintage. This piece is nearing 80 years of age, but you would not be able to tell by looking at it. It is in incredible condition with very minor restoration work done in just a couple areas. To the naked eye it appears flawless and untouched by time. These pieces are truly timeless and will remain beautiful for decades to come. This piece is part of our exclusive collection.
