About the Item

Handwoven in wool and originating from Turkey 5x10 circa 1950-1960, its polychromatic colorway enjoys a quite traditional emphasis of rich colors. On the Design: Connoisseurs may admire its colorway is a rich range of, namely deep reds, browns, navy blue and teal tones, offset by off-white accents in serrated geometric patterns in the all over style. It has very unique geometric patterns in the field—woven to look almost like scales in how they flow into each other, with a gradation one seldom seen in Kilims of this period and before. Admirers of the craft may further admire that its fabulous design is matched only in rarity by its exceptionally large size—among the best one could find of a Kilim with this rich natural patina and play of modern-meets-classic sensibilities today. Condition: This vintage kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
