A column of connected hooked medallions run along the middle of the composition. Each lozenge medallion features a small rosette in the center surrounded by a ring of floral fertility symbols. It is enclosed with a double border comprised of repeating S-hooks and fertility motifs while the inner guard border’s delicate floral design adds a touch of grace to the composition. Though deceptively simple, this vintage Oushak rug is steeped in Anatolian history.
