Antique French Verdure Wall Tapestry with Hunting Scene & Renaissance Style

About the Item

78244 Antique French Verdure wall tapestry hanging with Hunting Scene & Renaissance Style 4'00 x 4'09. Drawing inspiration from The Hunters Enter the Woods (from the Unicorn Tapestries) and Renaissance style, this hand-woven wool antique French Verdure tapestry depicts a noble hunting scene. The embellishments alone are sufficiently captivating, but the use of color is extraordinary. The composition features noblemen with spears and their hunting hounds dogs surrounded by a plush forest composed of trees, foliage, and delicate florals. It is enclosed with an acanthus vine scroll border. The colors join to create a truly compelling dance, and inaudibly speak with a timeless voice that is characterized by sensual decadence, as well as by stately action. All facets of this piece collectively entwine to form the striking and grand charm of a textile that is worthy to depict the tender, emotive, and vibrant details of humans and histories, no longer known. Well-suited for a variety of interior styles: English, Medieval, Henry VI, Manor House, Tudor, London Proper, Bungalow, Craftsman, Eclectic, Urban, Industrial, Rustic, Mid-Century Modern, Tribal, Lodge, Cabin, Artisan, Modern, Contemporary, and Traditional. Bespeaking age and history, this antique French verdure wall tapestry is the perfect complement to interiors with similar richness and rustic vibes including natural wood furnished chalets, hunting lodges, estates, cottages, and mountainside abodes as found in Colorado, Lake Tahoe, or the Adirondacks. Rendered in variegated shades of tan, rose, cerulean, brown, gold, red, taupe, pink, plum, olive, sage, glaucous, rust, gold, green, verdigris, purple, cerise, and beige with other accent colors. Desirable Age Wear. Abrash. Hand-woven wool. Made in France. Measures: 04'00 x 04'09.
