About the Item
Superbe fauteuil "Mercurio", extrêmement rare, de l'artiste, designer et sculpteur français Claude Courtecuisse.
Les fauteuil est en acrylique méthacrylate blanc et a été produit par l'atelier artisanal italien. 'Cataneo' pour la société française 'Steiner' en 1967. Les Italiens étaient à l'époque maîtres fabricants de l'acrylique méthacrylate, alors très nouveau et coûteux, qui permettait la production de formes libres expressives.
Le fauteuil "Mecurio" a été exposé à la prestigieuse exposition "Espaces et Lumières -,salon des artistes décoratifs" de 1969 à Paris.
Le fauteuil est en état correct. Il présente des décolorations visibles sur les photos, des coulures, quelques marques. La garniture en tissu est en parfait état. Pas fissures à signaler sur la coque.
Courtecuisse était un designer, sculpteur et artiste français. Les œuvres de Courtecuisse figurent dans les collections du Centre Pompidou et du Musée des arts décoratifs à Paris, ainsi que dans la grande collection du FRAC à Calais. .
Courtecuisse participe en 1967 aux Salons des arts décorateurs au Grand Palais à Paris où les designers décident d'aborder l'environnement social à travers le thème de l'art de vivre. Courtecuisse y installe un immense stand de ses meubles en carton d'avant-garde (dont un exemplaire fait partie de la collection du Centre Pompidou).
En 2007, Claude Courtecuisse a présenté une exposition personnelle au Centre Pompidou, à Paris.
