18th Century Venetian Rococo Polychrome and Gilded Chair

About the Item

Fine 18th century Venetian Rococo polychrome and gilded antique chair Gorgeous Venetian green and gilt carved wood side chair. This Rococo chair is polychrome painted with gilt accents. This elegant chair is carved with graceful cabriole legs. The seat has been recently meticulously reupholstered in a pink and white candy stripe. The chair is structurally sound. There are some polychrome chips and a few treated wormholes. Overall wear is commensurate with age and use. Beautifully patinated over time. Provenance: From the Estate of Paulette Goddard sold at Sotheby's NY in 1990. Measurements: Total height 37.5" x width 22" x depth 20" Seat height 18" Weight: Approximately 20 lbs.
