Vintage Hand Carved African Baule Primitive Tribal Chair

About the Item

Vintage hand carved African Baule Tribal yoke back low chair. Vintage hand carved African Baule Triball chair. Low chairs such as this were carried on the shoulders of village men as they went to attend social gatherings or community rituals in the Baule Tribe, circa Late 19th to Mid-20th Century. The back of the chair measures approximately 24" high (the seat portion is 10 1/2" off the ground), 18" wide and 15" deep Feel free to request a delivery rate and we will do our best to search for the most reasonable quote.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Likely the work of a Dan artisan, this early 20th century wood carved piece might be a little unsteady on its feet but it is in very good condition cosmetically given it's age. Some imperfections exist but they are nominal consisten with age and use.
