Pair of Figural Full Body Carved Teak Lioness Hunting Lodge Chairs
About the Item
This spectacular pair of hand carved teak lioness club chairs are front-cover-magazine-worthy and can add a bit of the unexpected to any style of room. The color is a deep reddish brown that more closely resembles rosewood or Brazilian Jacaranda however is crafted from teak. Gorgeous details in every square inch, consider using at the ends of a long dining table, in a living room or den, next to a fireplace, in a library, or even inside a large bedroom suite. Give your room some romantic fancy and mystique and for designers with clients who love animals, this is the perfect touch of Organic Modern to add to any room.
For interior designers who want the Pedro Friedeburg "Hand Foot Chair" or an anthropomorphic piece from Judy Kensley McKie but do not have the client budget for it, this can serve similar amounts of whimsy and delight into a room.
Fabricated from solid teak, these figural arm (and tail!) lounge chairs have been carved in exquisite detail to form a representation of a leopard, lion or another predatory member of the big cat family, as it slinks around those seated, surrounding them. From the fiercely crafted face down to the slender tail, these chairs have been created in fine detail which continues down to the claws of the beast.
These eye-catching tribal chairs would be a great addition as part of a classical, contemporary, mid-century modern, post-modern, french neoclassical, italian modern, danish modern, traditional, transitional or farmhouse styled living room, den, man (or woman!) cave, family room, entry, office or bedroom. They would also draw some attention in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium. For corporate venues such as a hotel or restaurant, these could be the perfect lobby chairs to accept the space. Consider using as side chairs, dining, cafe or breakfast table chairs, bedside chairs, fireside chairs, dressing or changing room chairs, hallway chairs, entryway or mudroom chairs, nursing or reading chairs, conference room chairs, office or desk chairs, guest chairs, lobby chairs, lounge chairs or occasional chairs ideal in virtually any setting.

- Vladimir Kagan Model #100A Barrel Lounge Chair in Velvet, c. 1973, SignedBy Vladimir KaganLocated in Los Angeles, CAThis rare collectors piece is the Vladimir Kagan model #100-A 'Barrel Lounge Chair' on ball casters, designed in 1947, signed with Vladimir Kagan Designs label. The gorgeous velvet is in a red color but with a hint of burnt orange tone giving it a beautiful warmth and softness that can benefit any space. Signature curvaceous arms make this Barrel chair easily recognizable by design fans and a go-to choice for top interior designs throughout the world. This incredible collector's piece is a glimpse into Vladi's history. The 100-A Barrel chair was designed in 1947, this particular example was produced in circa 1973 in Kagan's new (at the time) state of the art factory in Long Island, after the Hugo Dreyfuss factory burned down in 1972. Highly sought-after by both collectors and interior designers - signed examples like this one being the most desirable as Kagan's designs were often copied throughout the years. This Barrel club chair by Vladimir Kagan for Vladimir Kagan Designs would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using as a side chair, cafe or breakfast table chair, bedside chair...Category

- Pair of Club Chairs by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani Italy, c 1970, SignedBy Sormani, Claudio SalocchiLocated in Los Angeles, CAThis newly reupholstered pair of club chairs by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani, circa 1970s, features graceful chrome frames with nubby white bouclé fabric. Signed with 1960s/ 1970s Sormani label as shown in photo gallery. *Note, we have the matching sofa available in another listing. The graceful frames share a design quality with Cassina's LC2 / LC3 design by Le Corbusier, as they are 'buckets of cushions' in similar fashion and comfort. However these Sormani lounge chairs feature some unique subtle details, such as the slight "twist" in the rear legs (see photos). Signed with a Sormani label, this particular rare design is attributed to Claudio Salocchi. While there were several other famous designers who created works for Sormani in this time period, the style best matches Salocchi's work. For collectors looking for something unique and rare within a collection of 1960s/ 1970s Italian designs, this pair of easy chairs are an amazing opportunity. These Cassina LC2 / LC3 style chairs...Category
