Introducing a gorgeous, vintage Mid-Century Modern lounge chair and ottoman set clearly modeled after the iconic 670 Lounge and Ottoman designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller. Featuring bentwood 'shells' made from Brazilian rosewood with absolutely stunning variegated woodgrains unique to the species offset by character-rich distressed genuine, black leather this extraordinary chair and ottoman set is perfect for designers searching for a lounge chair that is as visually captivating as it is comfortable.
Both chair and ottoman swivel smoothly and effortlessly 360 degrees and the chair reclines with the perfect amount of give - not too lose, as is common with many older Eames chair models. The HEAVY steel bases add stability and a sense of craftsmanship to both chair and footstool making the set all the more reliably comfortable.
With it's stunning variegated rosewood woodgrains, patinaed leather and heavy-duty steel foundation this chair is able to blend seamlessly against a multitude of design backdrops from Mid-Century Modern to Industrial to Contemporary and everything in between. This gorgeous Mid-Century Modern lounge chair and ottoman set is in 100% original, vintage condition and has aged to perfection! The rosewood veneered plywood composition is in excellent shape showing only minor nicks and light surface scratches but showing no gouges, deep scratches or stains whatsoever.
The distressed leather does show wear such as cracking, fraying and areas of discoloration. We love the character-rich look of the patina but if you'd like to have this set reupholstered in a fabric of your choosing please reach out to us prior to checkout to discuss options and pricing.
The HEAVY steel frame and base is in overall very good shape showing some tarnishing and nicks which can be seen in the detail photos provided. Both ottoman and chair swivel 360 degrees with ease and the chair reclines with the perfect amount of give - not too loose as many older Eames chair tend to become over time.
This visually captivating chair and ottoman set is ultra comfortable, structurally solid and ready for decades more of use.
