Red Painted Gustavian Bookcase Display Cabinet, Sweden circa 1790-1820

About the Item

The details in this large red Gustavian pine bookcase are impressive with carved molding and Greek key pattern along the crown, carved inset columns at side and fluted carved details along base. The upper glass doors allow for beautiful display of any collection held within and balanced by two lower functioning drawers. Note, the left door is held in place with a simple piece of flat metal which you press down( from the interior) to release the latch; a key (included) is used to lock and open right door. Built in two sections, making this large cabinet easier to transport and install. Restored, later professionally painted in layered shades of muted red with white undertones and lightly distressed to fit the age and grace of this lovely bookcase. The interior is painted a solid brick red, which perfectly accents the exterior. All scratches, cracks, dings, old repairs(see back) and age related separations (drawers) are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this cabinet. Interior shelf depth 14.25" Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting may all impact how item is viewed.
