Javanese Vintage Side Cabinet with Latticed Bamboo Sliding Doors and Gallery

About the Item

A vintage Javanese wooden side cabinet from the mid 20th century with latticed bamboo sliding doors, three-quarter gallery, pierced motifs and slightly curving feet. Created on the island of Java during the Midcentury period, this side cabinet features a three-quarter wooden gallery adorned with pierced motifs, surrounding a rectangular dark colored top revealing a nicely distressed patina. The façade showcases two sliding doors made of latticed bamboo, opening to reveal a convenient storage compartment. The sides and back present simple panels giving all the attention to the front. The ensemble is raised on four slightly out-curving feet and boasts a brown patina with nice aging. With its clean lines and bamboo sliding doors, this vintage Javanese wooden side cabinet from the mid 20th century will bring a touch of authenticity to any home, perhaps placed in a kitchen or living room, particularly displayed in a mountain cabin, country home or beach house!
