A pair! of rococo style cabinets.
About the Item
A highly unusual pair of rococo style cabinets. The cabinets are made as exact copies of the Swedish 18th c cabinetmakers Jonas Hultstens masterpiece, now in the collection of Nordiska Museum in Stockholm.
The cabinets are made in the 1940s by students of the in Sweden well known Ebeniste school Malmstenskolan.
His masterpiece was made around 1772.
These cabinets are made after the original drawings for the masterpiece (picture shown in the picture gallery).
The fine carpenters have used the same techniques that was used 250 years ago and put in more than 1000 hours of work per cabinet.
The cabinets are veneered with walnut among other precious woods. The carved decorations are gilt in the same technique that was used in the 18th c and the bronze handles are 18th c.
The wealth of details is amazing. These are truly unique pieces.
