About the Item

Beautiful cherrywood chest of drawers with inlay works from the late 18th century in Austria around 1790. This over 230 year old commode from the so-called "Josephinism" era - a period named after Emperor Joseph II. - impresses with its great looking design. Fine mirrormatched cherrywood veneer was set in a fantastic manner and especially emphasized by inlayed ebonized plumwood/ maple frames all over the dresser. (some are slighty bleeched) The elaborately crafted antique chest of drawers provides three large drawers offering a lot of space. All drawers still keep the original and fully functionable locks. Adorned by lovely brass fittings, this gorgeous, late 18th century commode has been refurbished about 15 years ago and is still in a great "ready to live", old restored condition.

Remarkable baroque chest of drawers from the period in Austria around 1770. A fantastic late 18th century chest of drawers showing an extraordinary design combining straight lines with soft curved shapes. The fine nut wood veneered surface with beautiful grain confers this amazing looking chest of drawers a real special appearance. This over 250 years old antique dresser was part of the inventory of an old chapel and impresses with its roots maple sections, whereby each field has been additionally framed by delicate inlayed ebonized fruitwood. Adorned by lovely brass fittings, the three artfully designed, cambered drawers can be locked separately with the still original so-called "snap locks" and offer a lot of storage space (the original key is included). Outstanding 19th century chest of drawers from the famous Biedermeier period in Vienna/ Austria around 1840. Impressing with an absolute fantastic grain, this elaborately restored commode offers four large, lockable drawers which provide a lot of storage room. The high-quality nutwood veneer has been set in an absolute beautiful manner to make it look like it is running down from top to the bottom without any interruption. In contrast to that the slightly curved pilaster strips show a horizontally veneered surface.
