Very Fine George IV Mahogany and Ebony Partners Desk by Gillows

About the Item

Very fine George IV mahogany and ebony partners desk by Gillows of Lancaster, circa 1825, the tooled double border leather top with cross banding and carved edge, over drawers, the center ones with makers stamp and all with original locks, over two pedestal bases, each side finished to look like drawers, but with one having cabinet door and shaped folio dividers, standing on stepped plinth bases, the whole with fine color and patination. Provenance: Anthony Fell Antiques, Norfolk, UK.
