Rare Aldo Tura Goatskin Bar Cart 1960s
About the Item
Aldo Tura bar cart in an oval shape lacquered in brown goatskin with gold brass applications and a container as a champagne or wine cooler. Based on the idea of René Magritte. One of Aldo Tura's most recognized designs. an icon! This specific bar cart was made around the 1960s and is in good vintage condition. Together with artists such as Piero Fornasetti and Carlo Bugatti, Aldo Tura (1909-1963) certainly belonged to the outsiders of Italian design. While the former chose abundant figurative decorations as a feature, Bugatti and Tura emphasized the use of a specific material. Tura founded its workshop in Milan in 1939 and the company has been active ever since.
