Rare Japanese Antique Wooden Black Low Table/Wabisabi Sofa Table/1800s/Edo-Meiji
About the Item
This is a rare Japanese antique wood black low table made in the late Edo to Meiji period.
The top is made of zelkova and the legs are made of cypress or cedar.
It has a very simple design and fits in a modern space.
It has been used for quite a long time, and there are fine scratches and wear on the edge of the top plate, so it seems that it was used as a workbench.
It seems to be an item made in Saitama Prefecture or Gunma Prefecture.
It's hard to find a desk with such a beautiful top plate expression and an all-black desk. The top plate is slightly warped and there is a slight rattle, but there is no problem in using it. Rather, despite being quite old, it can be said that the condition is good because there are no defects.
A very valuable item.
Highly recommended.

In today's world, where cheap and disposable products are encouraged, the act of repeatedly modifying and re-creating the things around us opens up a new world.
