19th c. Rustic French Farmhouse Table c.1850-1900

About the Item

ABOUT A primitive rustic farmhouse table with front drawer. Pegged construction visible on all four tapered legs. The top consists of two wide planks of wood which indicates the age of the piece as harvested trees were larger years ago. A former owner's name is carved on the top showing the history of the piece Could be used as a dining table, desk or console. Very light in weight. CREATOR Unknown. France. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1850-1900. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Pine or Douglas Fir. Motrise and tenon joinery. CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Drawer interior possibly rebuilt sometime in it's lifetime. Chips in the wood on the corner and front edge. DIMENSIONS H 28.75 in. W 47 in. D 24.25 in. Knee Clearance 24.25 in. HISTORY Unknown.
