French 19th Century Fruitwood Vendange Table

About the Item

This wine tasting – or vendange – table was made in the 19th century in France. Used by wine-makers throughout France and Europe, these specialized tables feature the ability to be stored away when not in use thanks to the tilting mechanism that allows its top to be positioned in upright orientation so as to take up less space in tightly-quartered cellars. This antique is made of fruitwood and has a nice patina. When tilted upright, the table measures: 52-⅛”H x 49-¾”W x 18-¾”D. Today, this unique table would be perfect for a breakfast room or informal dining space, but could also serve as a primary dining table for a smaller family.
