Vintage Italian dining table by Gastone Rinaldi for Thema Italy 1. Gastone Rinaldi (1920-2006) was a Padua-born Italian designer. In Padua, he began working for Rima, a metal furniture manufacturer founded in 1916 by his father, Mario Rinaldi. He took over the family business with his brother Giorgio in 1948.Then, in 1974, he established Thema, which shuttered in 1989.The table features a stunning, modernist chrome base and large glass oval top. The frame is in original condition with some visible wear, including scratching to the frame and minimal chipping to the glass. Missing one original glass rubber bumper. The glass is not original to the frame, this glass is 80 x 44 x 29.25, the original size was 74.8ʺW × 37.4ʺD × 29.13ʺH. Wear is consistent with it's age and use.
