19th Century English Oak Work Table
About the Item
A Good Mid 19th Century English Oak Work Table or Sewing Box on Stand.
The octagonal box with multiple internal divisions for storing needles, thread, bobbins and other accessories but now useful for more general storage. The box is supported on a turned column with tapering knop and standing on a quadripartite platform supported on flattened bun feet with the original castors.
The oak has attained a lovely honey colour, contrasting vividly with the unfaded shade of the interior, and this lovely table would make an excellent small side table.
