Painted Porcelain Plate Figuring a Fisherwoman, 19th Century

About the Item

Painted porcelain plate figuring a fisherwoman near a lake in the middle of nature. She holds a fishing rod under her arm and tries to hung an insect on the hook. She wears a pink, orange and white dress and a white cloth on her shoulders. She wears a bun. Her shoes are put next to her on rocks and a basket is put in front of her. Signed “G. Escargueil” on the left bottom. Gilt wood frame with motifs of beads frieze and rolled ribbon. Work realized in the 19th century.
