19th C. French Landscape & Figures Painting on Wooden Plaque (4+ Ft Wide)

About the Item

A large French landscape painted wooden wall panel from the 19th century, artist unknown. This antique wall decoration from France has been artisan painted and depicts a lady sheep sheering with a gentleman caressing her chin, as another drinks in the distance. The figures are about a nearby tree, with a homestead or small village in the background. The panel is rectangular in shape, with concaved cut-outs at each corner. This 19th century French painted wall plaque is nicely sized at just over 4 feet in length.

This antique door from Turkey has a rustically decorated front side which has been ornately adorn in a carved geometric design, with a larger and two smaller panels that have hand-carved embellishments in moon and star motifs.
