Original Vintage Musical Advertising Poster Follies David Edward Byrd Broadway
About the Item
Original vintage advertising poster for the award winning Follies Broadway musical show with music and lyrics written by the composer Stephen Sondheim (1930-2021) and the playwright and book writer James Goldman (1927-1998), directed by the theatre director and producer Harold Prince (1928-2019) and the director and choreographer Michael Bennett (1943-1987), starring Yvonne De Carlo (1922-2007) as Carlotta Campion. Colourful psychedelic illustration by the notable American graphic designer David Edward Byrd (b. 1941) depicting a lady with flowing blue and purple flowing hair, the bold stylised title text coming from her headdress in front of stars with a crack running from the E down through her face, the space below for the performance information set withing a decorative border. Very good condition, minor staining, signed in pen by David Byrd, printed on card.
