Original vintage advertising poster for Steinway pianos featuring a great illustration by the German artist Werner Von Axster-Heudtlass (1898-1949) depicting a young lady wearing a fabulous dress flowing around the piano stool, playing the piano marked with the distinctive Steinway & Sons logo with a man in a smart black tie / tuxedo suit standing by the side and listening attentively to the music with his head bent down and arms crossed, a tapestry on the wall in the background shows three figures playing stringed musical instruments and the stylised title text swirls in front of the pianist's dress below. Founded in 1853 by Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg (Henry Engelhard Steinway; 1797-1871) Steinway & Sons is an award winning American piano company renowned for producing high quality pianos. Printed in Germany by Elsnerdruck, Berlin, circa 1930s. Good condition, creasing, tears, staining, pinholes.
