"The Counter" by Artist Josette Urso
About the Item
Excerpts from the artist's statement:
"I use paint. fabric, found and sculpted objects, small pieces of metal and jewels to create varying and overlapping areas of visual rhythms and tensions."
"I strive to create a reality full of visual and psychological tensions and contradictions. These are similar to the ones I feel when during a special personal celebration I can feel both excited and disappointed."
"Through my work, I balance what I know, understand and feel comfortable with, with what causes an uneasiness and is a mystery to me."
This extraordinary tapestry entitled "The Counter" was created in 1991 and was part of a renowned California collection.
