Antique Silesian Wire Bracelet, circa 1820
About the Item
Silesian wire was originally made in the medieval town of Gleiwitz in Silesia and was thought to have been made by gunsmiths and armor workers. This Silesian Wirework Braided Cuff Bracelet has intricately layered flowers woven of wire with ties that fall gently from the wrist and steel sequins. Plaited wire sides which clip together to close around the wrist create a pleasing geometric pattern in contrast to the flowers and bows. The bracelet has a thoughtful adjustment mechanism to fit all wrist sizes. It feels light and delicate on the wrist. The cuff is in perfect condition.
