Antique Edwardian Platinum Pin of Diamonds & Natural Pearl, c. 1907

About the Item

Edwardian pin with diamonds and a natural pearl, c 1907. With a frame of platinum and yellow gold (in the back), this is probably an American piece executed circa 1905 to 1910. It possesses 47 rose cut diamonds. The estimated diamond weight is .30 cts. In addition there are 10 old cut diamonds that are estimated to weigh 1 ct. The diamonds are approximately J/L in color and very slightly to slightly included. These stones surround a grey pearl of 6 mm., which is original to the piece and most likely, given the time period, natural salt water and natural color. The length of this pin is 2-13/16th inches and it's width varies from 1/16th of an inch at one end to 1/2 of an inch at the other end. This pin is in fine condition and weighs 7.5 grams. We have photographed this pin with another similar pin in our collection (sold separately and can also be seen here under brooches) to show how wonderfully they compliment each other. Please note our model is a medium to large size. All items sold are accompanied by a detailed Statement of Value by our gemologist, as well as all original gemological documentation, if specified in the listing. As always, we guarantee all of pieces to be exactly as represented. Each piece of jewelry arrives in a finely gift-wrapped presentation box. Over the decades of our stewardship as a small but exemplary purveyor of the jeweler's art, we have strived to offer a fine and authentic selection, in excellent condition, of collectible jewels from all highly sought time periods at competitive prices and even lower prices, if possible. In the process we have had the extraordinary good fortune of meeting remarkable people - some collectors, others just extremely interesting individuals who have taken the time and effort to examine their lives and select things that tend to make them smile, or admire, or just wonder at the exciting endlessly creative and nuanced panoply of jeweled artifacts.
