Art Deco 1940s Palladium Diamond Stylised Bow Brooch
About the Item
An Art Deco palladium and diamond brooch, comprising one large round brilliant cut diamond, forty-four smaller single cut diamonds, set in palladium, with palladium pin and fittings.
This brooch is designed as a stylised bow. A late Art Deco take on a classic bow brooch, with striking angles and well-thought openwork – a highly coveted piece. The brooch is set to the centre with the largest diamond, a round brilliant cut, which is elegantly set within a hexagonal setting, complete with millegrain edging. Two sets of 3 diamonds are set above and below, within chevron shapes, allowing the central diamond to appear as if it were surrounded by another hexagon. Angular diamond set sections sweep out from the centre, interjected by curved lines of diamonds, creating the stylised ‘ears’ of the bow. The smaller diamonds are smartly set, with millegrain edging. Clever openwork sections allow your garment to be seen through the brooch, creating further impact. The diamonds are bright, white, and supremely sparkly. The brooch is fitted with a palladium pin and C-shaped safety catch which locks tightly into place, with a ring for a safety chain. The brooch is in excellent condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The brooch measures 14.5mm high, and 38mm wide, and is 6mm deep (excluding brooch fittings).
