Trifari costume jewelry of the late-1930s included Clip-Mates, their version of the double clip brooch. The setting is rhodium-plated. This piece can be worn as a brooch or as two separate dress clips. Good condition. 100% genuine. All stones are attached. Some light colour loss or scratches, since over almost 100 years. A very beautiful brooch, signed at the back. Size: 6.0*2.3 cm. Weight: 19 g. Crown Trifari created some of the most desirable costume jewellery of the twentieth century, many of its designers having trained and designed at Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier. Amongst them was Alfred Phillipe who joined Crown Trifari in 1930 as head designer and Andre Boeuf another celebrated signature designer from Cartier who became lead designer in the 60s once Alfred Phillipe retired. The company patented its own non-tarnish metal, calling it Trifanium.
