Exceptional Victorian Carved Coral Brooch
About the Item
Exceptional Victorian Carved Coral Brooch from the late 19th Century. Beautifully carved with god Dionysus, the god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, of ritual madness and ecstasy in Greek mythology, with urn shaped and grape cluster drops. Charming putti motifs flank the main figure.
Exceptional carving of Italian origin coral, mounted in France in the mid-late 19th Century.
