Extremely Rare Lesage "Corn Crops" Brooch
About the Item
Francois Lesage, the last link to the golden era of Haute Couture who passed away on December 1st at the age of 82 in 2012 famously said: "Embroidery was the love of writing your dreams with a needle, with a pearl, with anything that could enchant and bring tenderly to life a decor, an ambience, a souvenir." Those words were at the heart of Mr. Francois Lesage's work. The house of Chanel brought the Iconic embroidery house in 2002, so that the House of Lesage, and their artistians will live on.
The Huge brooch measures 4 1/4" in width, 4" in height, signed in back. Fuchsia and green colored silver metallic threads, gold metallic threads, micro gold and clear bugle bead, along with micro gold beads surrounded with a polished gold frame.
