Line Vautrin Flying Bird Talosel Resin Brooch Pin with Blue Mirrors

About the Item

Beautiful Line Vautrin Talosel or resin bird brooch pin. Off-white resin encrusted with blue-colored mirrored glass on a flying bird shape. Glass and Talosel, a technique created by Line Vautrin, in which she used cellulose acetate that was fractured into tiny splinters and worked with heat. The creation of Talosel jewelry involved various stages, such as crafting mirrors, tinting them, molding the Talosel material, and embedding fragments of smaller mirrors within it. The brooch is in good condition, with some pieces of glass fractured in the making process. Measurements: 2.44 in wide (6.1 cm) x 2 in high (5.1 cm). Reference: This specific bird shape was also used to create the very famous "Miroir aux Alouettes" pictured in "Line Vautrin - Miroirs" by Patrick Mauriès, Galerie Chastel Marechal Editions - Copyright 2004 on page 32.
